SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (KGO) -- A groundbreaking ceremony was held Tuesday for "Science Garage," a state-of-the-art biotech lab and classroom meant to help students in South San Francisco Unified prepare for college and careers in biotech and other STEM fields.
The building is part of Genentech's $18 million Futurelab collaborative program with the district to support science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education. Attendees of the groundbreaking included Kristin Campbell Reed, Director of Corporate and Employee Giving at Genentech.
