United Airlines is teaming up with the ride-share company Uber. The new partnership allows travelers to use the United Airlines app to book a car ride, while waiting for their luggage. United says it is updating its app to show Uber fare estimates, available vehicles and wait times.

United is the first airline to partner with the San Francisco-based Uber. The airline is even offering its "mileage plus" customers a thousand extra award miles if they book a ride with Uber.
