SAN FRANCISCO - We've partnered with the team at Hoodline - the hyperlocal neighborhood website to find weekend activities in and around the Bay Area.
SoMa's Steep Creamery and Tea
If the warm temperatures and sunshine have you craving a cool treat this weekend, you're in luck.
SoMa's Steep Coffee and Tea just opened a creamery in the same neighborhood. They specialize in one of the hottest new dessert trends: Thai-style rolled ice cream.
First, the ice cream is frozen to stabilize it and chop in ingredients. Then, it's spread out in a thin layer and frozen again to infuse and bring out the flavors. Finally, the ice cream is rolled up and topped with treats like boba or house-made coconut pudding. Many of the flavors are tea infused, like thai iced tea or matcha, but you can try something more traditional like cookie crush if you'd like.
Whiskies of the World expo
After your ice cream fix, how about an evening of sampling whisky? On Friday night, "Whiskies of the World" is hosting an expo on the docked San Francisco Belle Hornblower Yacht.
Distilled spirit makers and ambassadors will pour sips and teach you about their craft. With two ballroom-sized tasting decks, cigar pairing deck, and artisanal food pairings, you're sure to have a night of spirited fun.
Comedy Oakland competition
Head to the East Bay Saturday night for some laughs.
Comedy Oakland will be held inside the Spice Monkey restaurant, where a one-night three-round comedy tournament will take place.
The Comedy Machine competition will feature eight comedians telling their best jokes for a chance to be crowned the champion.
MORE TO DO: Enjoy the weekend, and don't forget to check out Hoodline's events calendar for more ideas.
