Spectators celebrate Fourth of July at 3-mile-long Alameda parade

ALAMEDA, Calif. - The Alameda 4th of July Parade is one of the largest and longest Independence Day parades in the nation.

LIST: Bay Area 4th of July fireworks and festivities

Dozens of cars, fire trucks and floats made their way down Park Street on Tuesday.

It's a tradition for many families to return to the same spot along the 3-mile route year after year. There were dance troops, marching bands and antique cars.

There are 2,500 people taking part in Tuesday's parade.
