Things to do on a rainy day

When it's rainy outside, try these fun indoor activities with your kids. Here are some great activities we found to keep your children moving and entertained this winter.

Tumble & Tea Café

Tumble & Tea, LLC is a full-service children's indoor play park designed to provide support for the caregiver, during joyful, yet stressful years of early childhood. While other play facilities focus entirely on creating a stimulating environment for children, Tumble & Tea Cafe also provides amenities for the caregivers, thereby creating a positive and supportive environment for kids and adults alike.

Tumble & Tea Cafe was founded by two stay-at-home moms and good friends: Gina DeCarlo and Susan Older. "We knew exactly what we wanted, a safe and comfortable indoor play area for our kids and coffee for us, and we also knew that it did not exist." One day at lunch while Sue nursed her newborn and she and Gina scrambled to keep an eye on their rambunctious toddlers, they decided that they had had enough and it was up to them to make their dream a reality. They spit, they shook, and that very day they bought business plan software and got to work.

About the Lindsay Wildlife Museum:
See live, non-releasable California wild animals, closer than you can imagine. Hawks, owls, eagles and other birds of prey, perch overhead. Go eye-to-eye with a fox, bobcat, opossum, coyote or other native mammals. Snakes, toads, turtles and other reptiles and amphibians are just around the corner. A replica of Mt. Diablo's balancing rock showcases plants and animals that are found in nearby open spaces.

Daily programs may include an eagle or mammal feeding, stage presentations with live wild animals, and opportunities for visitors to interact with small domestic animals. Volunteers are available to answer questions about the animals on display. The museum offers a broad range of affordable, quality educational programs that instill a deeper understanding of, and commitment to, wildlife and their habitats. Bring your toddler and share a Monday Meanderings class, go bird watching, take an international nature trip, host a child's special birthday party or bring a class to the museum for a guided tour.
