Mary Anderson was reported missing at about 5:30 a.m. by nursing staff at the St. Therese Convalescent Hospital located at 21863 Vallejo St. near Hayward, the sheriff's office reported.
Staff reported that Anderson was seen in her bed at about 4:20 a.m., but was not in her room when the nursing staff returned about an hour later, according to sheriff's officials.
Anderson, who suffers from dementia, diabetes, and high blood pressure, had not received one of her four daily injections needed to control her diabetes since 8 p.m. Saturday, the sheriff's office reported.
A search of the surrounding neighborhood, including the Hayward Bay Area Rapid Transit station and local fast food restaurants, was unsuccessful until Anderson was located at about 10:30 a.m., according to the sheriff's officials.
