2.2 earthquake strikes near Concord

The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.2 struck at about 5:45 a.m. today near Concord.

According to the USGS, the earthquake had a depth of 9.7 miles and was centered 3 miles west northwest of Concord and 16 miles northeast of Oakland.
