211 phone service expands coverage

The toll-free 211 phone service is expanding to seven Bay Area counties on Monday.

The 211 service provides information on many local services including food and shelter, immigration services, and job training.

The service is already available in San Francisco, Santa Clara and Alameda County. On Monday, callers will also be able to use it in Marin, Napa, Solano and Contra Costa County.
