The new shuttle service will run in the morning and evening, and serve two purposes, according to Caltrain. It will not only provide greater train access to Belmont residents, but it will relieve the overcrowding plaguing the Hillsdale station.
To encourage commuters to park at the Belmont station and take the shuttle, Caltrain has announced that parking there will be free.
The shuttle will run between 6:30 a.m. and 9:20 a.m. and 4:10 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The shuttle is a pilot program that will run through June 2009, according to Caltrain. At that time the agency will decide whether to continue the shuttle.
