A family member called 911 after realizing the man could not get down the San Bruno State Park mountainside. Coast Guard officials said he was about a third of a mile uphill. The Daly City Fire Department called for air assistance from the Coast Guard at 6:42 p.m.
The HH-65 helicopter swooped in for the rescue about a half-hour later. The man was not injured, the Coast Guard said.
No other information was immediately available.
