The money from Gilead Sciences will assist in providing early diagnosis and treatment of HIV through increased staffing for testing, education and counseling of patients, according to Santa Clara County officials.
The grant will be used to initially focus on people who are seeking diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases and will expand to become part of routine health screenings.
