San Francisco faces a budget shortfall that's tens of millions of dollars greater than officials first expected.

A new report by three City Hall budgeting offices finds the city will have a deficit of more than $338 million. That's about $87 million more than the previous estimate of $251 million.

City officials are expected to lay off hundreds of employees, cut several programs, and raise fees to balance the budget.
