Two brothers were shot in front of their Salinas home Friday night as they were talking with their father, police announced Saturday.

The shooting was reported at about 9:50 p.m. and occurred in the 1200 block of Paseo Grande, police reported. The brothers, ages 20 and 14, were standing between two vehicles in front of their home when a green Honda drove by, made a U-turn and came to a stop in front of the residence, police said.

A passenger in the rear of the vehicle brandished a handgun and allegedly shot at the victims. Juan Silva was shot in his foot and buttocks and his younger brother also sustained a gunshot wound, according to police. Both victims were taken to an area hospital with injuries that appeared to be serious but not life threatening, police reported.

Police have not announced any arrests in the case.
