Bay Area AIDS services organizations are being given close to one-million condoms to help in the fight against HIV and AIDS. Almost 175,000 of those were delivered in San Francisco and Oakland on Thursday morning. The donation from the Oakland-based non-profit Flowers Heritage Foundation comes at a time when aids organizations are being hit with severe budget cutbacks. Latex condoms have shown to be effective in preventing transmission of HIV/AIDS. There are currently over 140,000 adults living with aids in California.
