SF Blackout interrupts Giants game

SAN FRANCISCO, CA

"I don't know if everybody noticed us going off the air for a brief second. And the same thing happened here at the ballpark where everything got dark very briefly," says a Giants baseball announcer.

The lights went out for an instant just before 10 p.m. Monday night.

The Giants ballpark lost power from 9:53 p.m. - 9:55 p.m. then the game resumed after about five minutes.

It also appears that some lights on the Bay Bridge towers also went dark for a brief period.

Other areas of San Francisco, San Mateo and Mountain View were affected, but here are no reports of any accidents.

PG&E says that this blackout was due to a momentary outage in a transmission line.
