March 31, 2009 3:19:03 PM PDT
ABC7 is teaming up with Bay Area Letter Carriers and your local post office for the biggest food drive this spring!

"Stamp Out Hunger" is a one-day food drive across the country to help feed needy families. It's so easy, you don't even have to leave home! On Saturday, May 9, 2009, place bags filled with non-perishable food items next to your mailbox. Your letter carrier will pick them up and deliver them to local food banks.

Your local post office will also accept food donations if you wish to drop it off instead.

Examples of foods we urgently need:
Canned vegetables
Canned fruit
Tuna
Canned Meats
Soups, Stews, Chili
Peanut butter
Cereal
Juices
(no glass containers please!)
