Stabbing in SJ kills one person

San Jose police today are investigating a Saturday night stabbing that left a 21-year-old man dead and a 23-year-old man critically injured, Sgt. Mike Sullivan said.

At about 11 p.m., officers responded to the parking lot of Ernie's Liquor, located at 2808 S. White Road, on reports of a large fight and a possible stabbing victim, according to Sullivan.

Arriving officers located two victims. The 21-year-old man died either en route to the hospital or at the hospital and the 23-year-old man is in serious but stable condition today, Sullivan said.

No arrests were made and no suspect information was immediately available.

The stabbing marked the city's 16th homicide of the year.
