Gay marriages may help state budget

Same-sex marriages in California may help the state with its budget shortfall.The L.A. Times reports wedding planners, bakers and hotels increased their business almost immediately following the State Supreme Court's decision overturning a ban on gay marriage.

A UCLA study projects same-sex unions could pump $ 370 million into the economy over the next three years.

Counties can start issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples on June 17.
