Officers went to the 200 block of Marin Street on reports of the shooting at about 1:33 p.m. Police located Vallejo resident Ronnell B. Rucks unconscious and suffering gunshot wounds.
Rucks is the city's sixth homicide victim of the year.
On June 19 Charles L. Chandler II, a 19-year-old resident of the city, was shot and killed in the 200 block of Maine Street by the Marina Vista apartments.
