Man arrested for making illegal fireworks

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office announced today that an Aptos man has been arrested for allegedly selling and manufacturing illegal fireworks.

Willis Arthur Bailey, 52, was arrested on Monday at his Petery Lane residence in Aptos.

Investigators believe that Bailey has been involved in the illegal manufacture and sale of fireworks for several years. More than 1,500 pounds of fireworks and fireworks making materials were seized during the arrest, according to a statement from the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office.

In addition to the illegal fireworks charges, Bailey was also charged with the possession of more than one ounce of marijuana, according to the sheriff's office.
