Outrageous ice cream delights

Did you know that Americans eat an average of 25 pints of ice cream a year? That's according to the California Milk Advisory Board. In honor of National Ice Cream Month, how about some outrageous ice cream delights you can do with your kids? Bruce Weinstein, Author of "The Ultimate Ice Cream Book," shares some simple recipes.

The Cable "Car"-a-mel Sundae

  • 1 Scoop vanilla and Dulce de Leche ice cream into a sundae dish
  • Top with caramel sauce, salted peanuts and maraschino cherries

Ascoop from Alcatraz

  • 1 scoop rocky road ice cream into a waffle cup
  • Draw "prison bars" on ice cream with chocolate syrup or fudge sauce
  • Garnish with chocolate chips, mini-marshmallows and toasted pecans
