Four people injured in Berkeley shooting

BERKELEY, CA

Officers responded to reports of gunfire shortly after 1 a.m. in the 1500 block of Russell Street where they located the victims, according to Berkeley police Officer Andrew Frankel.

He said one man was shot in his arm and three women were injured by shrapnel. The four victims were taken to an area hospital to be treated for injuries that did not appear to be life threatening, Frankel said.

There was no report of an arrest made in the case and police are trying to determine the motive. The suspect was only described as a Hispanic man.

"We're investigating all avenues at this point," Frankel said.
