String of suspicious SF fires

San Francisco firefighters and police are investigating a string of suspicious overnight fires.

There have been at least three suspicious fires in San Francisco in the Pacific Heights/ Nob Hill area.

The first one was at Franklin and Vallejo, the second was at Sacramento and Leavenworth and the third was on Clay between Hyde and Leavenworth. In all three cases a stack of newspapers was lit on fire near the entrance to a building. Luckily all three were put out before they had a chance to get out of control.

In one case, firefighters were able to push burning papers in the street to get it safely from the building before they were able to put it out.

There is no word yet on who might have set the fires. Arson investigators were on the scene at Vallejo Street.
