The 5 Browns: Five siblings, five pianos

July 25, 2008 9:12:13 PM PDT
Janelle Wang started playing the piano when she was 3 years old. She took lessons all the way through high school. Since then, she just plays once in a while.

But on today's show, producers convinced her to play on the show because the classical music sensation "The 5 Browns", 5 siblings - 5 pianos, were featured on the show. Janelle says she only plays for herself. The last time she played for people was at a recital when she was a senior in high school. That was nearly 20 years ago! Even though she's rusty and hasn't tickled the ivories in a long time, she gave it a try.

About the program:
Three sisters, two brothers, five pianos. This piano-playing, Juilliard-groomed family generates an orchestra of sound from their five keyboards. Whether performing individually or together in various combinations from duo to complex five-piano arrangements, The 5 Browns reveal a deep connection to their material while bringing a fresh energy and dynamic character to their sound. Their recordings, which have topped the Billboard charts, prove that talent is a family affair.
