The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals Court on Thursday dismissed one of two suits against the Environmental Protection Agency.
The EPA had denied California's request to cut tailpipe greenhouse emissions by 50 percent starting in 2016. So the state sued in San Francisco and Washington, D.C.
The San Francisco case was thrown out Thursday on a technicality.
However, the same case is still pending before the Washington, D.C. circuit court.
