A brush fire that started near the Crockett exit on eastbound Interstate Highway 80 in unincorporated Contra Costa County has been completely contained, Cal Fire officials said today.

The fire, which was reported around 11:40 a.m., has burned 30 acres, Cal Fire said, but no structures have been damaged.

A Sig-alert for eastbound Highway 80 was issued around noon as the blaze, which CHP Officer Marc Johnston said was caused by a vehicle fire, had shut down the No. 3 lane on the highway.

All lanes were cleared at 12:21 p.m. and the Sig-alert was canceled three minutes later, the CHP reported.
