A man was fatally shot in Oakland early this morning about 10 minutes after a woman was killed nearby in a related incident, a police officer said.

The man was shot in the 1000 block of 76th Avenue at about 2:55 a.m. Officers found him suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Oakland police Officer Vince Fratangelo said this afternoon.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. Multiple people were detained in the incident, Fratangelo said.

At about 2:45 a.m., officers responded to the 7100 block of Spencer Street on reports of shots fired in the area.

A woman was found suffering several gunshot wounds. She died at the scene, police said.

Fratangelo did not know whether they were gang-related shootings.

In an unrelated shooting Saturday at about 11:50 p.m., two other people were shot in the 4900 block of Manila Avenue, Fratangelo said. Both people were listed in stable condition.
