Sen. Boxer supports Obama's oil plan

Senator Barbara Boxer threw her support behind Senator Obama's new energy policy on Monday.

In San Francisco, she said she supports his call for oil companies to begin exploration in nearly 70 million acres offshore -- much of it in the Gulf of Mexico.

Boxer blamed President Bush and Vice President Cheney for high gas prices.

So, here's my conclusion. You want to know about $4 per gallon? Eight years divided by two oilmen in the White House, this is it. And they can say anything they want and they can put lipstick on a pig and all the rest, but this is the answer," says Boxer.

Boxer does not support calls by Republicans for oil exploration in pristine wilderness areas, such as Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
