Better schools equal better starting salary

A survey conducted by Payscale, Inc. found that if you attend an Ivy League school, your median starting salary is 32 percent higher than for those who attend liberal arts schools.

The median starting salary of San Francisco State graduates is $47,300. University California, Berkeley graduates get a starting salary closer to $60,000.

The median starting salary of Harvard graduates is $63,000.

The study also found that extra pay often continues into mid career.
