Pinch-hitter Kurt Suzuki hit a game-winning two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning and the Oakland Athletics rallied to beat the Chicago White Sox 6-4 on Friday night.

Pitcher Brett Hunter, the Oakland Athletics' seventh-round draft pick in the amateur draft, agreed Friday night to a minor league contract.

Hunter was 12-8 with a 3.46 ERA in three years at Pepperdine University. The 6-foot-4 right-hander was a freshman All-American and an All-WCC pick while at Pepperdine. He's also a two-year member of the U.S. national baseball team.

Pinch-hitter Emil Brown doubled off Horacio Ramirez (1-2) leading off the ninth and pinch-runner Cliff Pennington was sacrificed to third. Chicago manager Ozzie Guillen replaced Ramirez with reliever D.J. Carrasco, who worked a full count on Suzuki before Oakland's catcher hit his sixth home run of the season over the left-field wall.

It was Suzuki's second career walkoff home run and his second pinch-hit homer this year.
