A 17-year-old Antioch boy was arrested Friday for the murder of a man believed to have had a dispute with several of the teen's friends, Antioch police said today.

Miles Coleman Roorda, 24, of Antioch, was shot to death on the night of Aug. 10 while drinking on the porch with another man at a home in the 500 block of Parker Lane, according to police.

Investigators said the 17-year-old, who is not being identified because he is a juvenile, was angry with Roorda and confessed to obtaining a handgun because of the conflict.

All the parties involved were originally from the same part of Louisiana, police said.

When the teen saw Roorda and the other man, he allegedly shot at them multiple times without warning, police said.

The teen, who was believed to have been hiding out in Oakland, was arrested without incident Friday while riding a bicycle on 85th Avenue, police said.

He has been booked into juvenile hall in Martinez on a murder charge, and prosecutors will review the case early this week, police said.
