The university is taking extra measures to separate fans from the treesitters at the football team's opening game this Saturday.

There will be an enhanced campus police presence at the barricade separating the last occupied tree from the public. Four protesters remain in its branches.

The University of California, Berkeley sent a letter to fans this week, asking them not to confront or provoke the treesitters.

The university is also closing three parking lots at the north and south ends of Memorial Stadium, allowing it to open new, expanded gates for easier pedestrian access.
