San Rafael police are looking for a suspect that has allegedly been responsible for multiple prowling incidents, most recently at an apartment on Sunday.

The suspect was heard trying to remove the screen from the window of a ground-level apartment at 35 Canal St., police said. The window was part of the bedroom of a single woman and her children.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his 20s with medium height, medium build and dark-colored hair.

The suspect is similar in description to the suspect described in a few other similar burglary or prowling incidents in the Canal District area, police said.

The victim told San Rafael police that the suspect appears similar to the composite drawing previously released. The incident was reported late by a friend of the victim.

The suspect may live or work in the area, according to police, which said that he may be walking in the area at night or standing on publicly accessible areas that are near homes.

Anyone with information on the suspect is encouraged to call the San Rafael Police prowler tip line at (415) 458-2399.
