Petaluma police make 50 DUI arrests

Fifty drivers were arrested at sobriety and driver's license checkpoints in Petaluma on Friday night and Saturday night, police reported today.

Eight drivers were arrested for driving under the influence, five were arrested for driving on a suspended license and 37 were arrested for driving without a license. A total of 45 vehicles were towed, according to the Police Department.

Increased enforcement efforts are continuing through the remainder of the Labor Day weekend.
