Consumer protection laws await approval

Major new protections for consumers has made its way to the governor's desk.

Marin assemblyman Jared Huffman's AB1860 would make law what most consumers already assume is the law. It would force manufacturers to stop selling recalled products.

Right now it is perfectly legal to keep the products on the shelves.

Ab1860 would put an end to that a levy fins against those who continue to sell faulty products.

The legislation also requires retailers and manufactures to post recall notices online and in stores.
