Manhunt continues for Garcia's shooter

FAIRFIELD, CA

Besides working very hard on this investigation, Fairfield police are doing everything they can to keep this story in the public's eye. They held a press conference Thursday morning asking anyone with information on who shot Matt Garcia to come forward. At this point more then 100 federal, state, county and city investigators are looking for the person responsible for shooting Garcia.

Garcia's family said their goodbyes to him Wednesday and Thursday morning he remains on life support while his organs are being harvested.

"This is a case that hits home for us. I would not say that we are frustrated, but there is lots of information to follow up on, but with any investigation - it doesn't happen overnight," said Katheryn Scareott, Fairfield police department.

Garcia was the city's youngest elected official, he was just 21-years-old when he was sworn in last year. A woman was taken into police custody on Wednesday night. She is believed to be a key witness.
