Most women have probably noticed cosmetic companies pushing make up with minerals. Is it hype or do minerals offer a real health benefit?

It's a buzz word in cosmetics these days. Minerals such as mica zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are said to give you extra advantages.

"The main advantage to mineral make up is that it should contain no chemicals, no fragrances and no preservatives which can irritate sensitive skin," said Dr. Arielle Kauvar, dermatologist.

The beauty editors at Good Housekeeping like Bare Escentuals Bareminerals SPF 15 Foundation and Pure minerals 4 in 1 pressed mineral makeup foundation SPF 15."

"The Pure Mineral's Foundations a pressed powder, and it's actually four products in one. A powder, a Foundation, a concealer and it also has titanium dioxide in it that protects your skin from the sun," said Leesa Suzman, Beauty Editor, Good Housekeeping.
