Boy arrested for robbing same home twice

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA

The first burglary took place on Sept. 24 when a home in the 1900 block of Rock St. was broken into during the day. The suspect entered through an unlocked window and took various small pieces of property, according to police.

Witnesses doing painting work in the area noticed a suspicious boy on a bike in the area of the home that was burglarized.

The same home was broken into on Monday when the suspect entered another unlocked window and stole various small items, police said.

The same witnesses from the Sept. 24 burglary noticed the same boy riding his bike in the area just prior to the second burglary, and reported the information to the home's property management company, which contacted the owner.

Police were soon notified and given a description of the suspect, which matched the description of a boy that a Mountain View police officer knew by name.

The investigation led to the arrest of the suspect Tuesday at about 12:55 p.m. at a relative's home in the 2200 block of Poplar Ave. in East Palo Alto, where police also recovered one of the stolen items.

The boy is being charged with two counts of residential burglary, according to police.
