Trials are scheduled in Oakland on Friday for two men charged in connection with the tree sitting protest at UC Berkeley.

Michael Schuck is charged with misdemeanor contempt of court and illegal lodging. Ernesto Pena is facing the same charges.

Both are among four tree sitters arrested last month at the end of the almost two-year long occupation of the trees outside Berkeley's Memorial Stadium.

Protesters wanted to stop the university from removing the grove of trees to build a new sports training facility.
