3 alarm fire in Mountain View

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA

The firefighters responded to the third story of 333 Escuela Ave., a three-story apartment building, around 2:30 p.m., spokesman Lynn Brown said.

They confined the fire to one apartment and were able to put it out by 2:45 p.m., Brown said.

Although Brown did not know exactly how many people were displaced, he said the one apartment is uninhabitable and other units may have been damaged by smoke or water.

The American Red Cross is offering shelter for anyone who was displaced.

No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.
