Each Contra Costa County Library branch will designate a day and time through Saturday when teens in grades six through 12 can go to their local library and earn a certificate to clear their accounts.
Teens wishing to participate in the program should bring their overdue library books and their library cards or a valid form of identification.
The certificate will not cover lost items or accounts that have already been sent to the collections department.
Specific dates and times when each library branch will be hosting their "Take a Bite out of Fines" event can be found at county's library Web site.
