Around 3:40 a.m. officers received reports of a motorcyclist down near 14861 Los Gatos Blvd. Police and paramedics arrived but the victim was pronounced dead in the roadway.
The initial investigation indicates the motorcyclist was riding south on Los Gatos Boulevard just south of Samaritan Drive when the driver lost control and struck a tree on the west side of the road, police said.
The rider's name is being withheld by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office until family members have been notified.
