Oakland violence up Halloween night

OAKLAND, CA

Police said there were two cases of robbery reported before it even got dark today.

The first incident was an armed robbery around 1:30 p.m. in the 3100 block of Park Boulevard. There were no injuries reported and no suspects identified, according to police.

Around 4 p.m., a strong-arm robbery occurred in the 2600 block of High Street. One male juvenile sustained minor injuries and police were able to identify three male juveniles as suspects, police said.

About an hour later two women were injured in the 3300 block of Fruitvale Avenue during an assault by two other women. Police said the incident was connected to protests against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement that took place today.

Earlier in the day, one man was injured when he was pistol-whipped around 2:40 p.m. in the 700 block of 31st Street, police said. Six men were identified as suspects in the incident, one of which had brandished the weapon.
