A man who was shot in San Jose early this morning is expected to survive, a police spokesman said.

The shooting was reported around 3:45 a.m. in the area of Rossmore Court and Rossmore Way.

San Jose police Officer Jermaine Thomas said the victim was transported by friends from the scene of the shooting to Quimby and South White roads nearby, and that paramedics then took him from there to a hospital.

The victim's injuries were not considered life-threatening.
