CSU admissions may become tougher

SACRAMENTO, CA

The system's chancellor is proposing new rules to make admissions more selective.

Individual schools may require higher grades and test scores, in light of skyrocketing applications and drastic state funding cuts.

Until now, all but the most popular of the 23 CSU schools have offered spots to anyone meeting eligibility requirements, specifically any California resident with a 3.0 GPA.

The Board of Trustees will vote on the change next week.
