Three arrested in San Jose murder

SAN JOSE, CA

Ba Tran, a 26-year-old San Jose man, was arrested in Southern California for the murder Friday, police said.

San Jose detectives obtained information of his whereabouts and that he was planning on fleeing to Mexico, according to police. Investigators collaborated with local authorities and arrested Tran in Alhambra. He was booked into Los Angeles County jail.

Two other suspects have been arrested for accessory to murder.

Ba Tran's brother, 24-year-old Bang Quan Tran, of San Jose, was arrested Tuesday in San Jose and booked into the Santa Clara County jail.

On Saturday, Diem Ho, a 36-year-old San Jose woman, was also arrested in the city and booked into Santa Clara County jail for accessory to murder, police said.

The shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. Monday in the 2000 block of Southwest Expressway. Officers responded to the area and found Nguyen, of San Jose, suffering from a gunshot wound in the driver's side of a car, according to police.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

San Jose police Officer Enrique Garcia said the suspects and the victim were all acquaintances, but the motive of the shooting remains under investigation.
