Fairfield police, with the help of a California Highway Patrol helicopter with an infrared scanning device, located six juveniles suspected of breaking into Sullivan Middle School early this morning.

Police responded around 12:30 a.m. to several classroom alarms at the school, located at 2195 Union Ave., Lt. Greg Hurlbut said.

The juveniles scattered, jumping fences into the backyards of nearby houses. The CHP helicopter quickly spotted one suspect in the yard of a home on Julie Court, Hurlbut said.

Police used dogs to locate two suspects hiding on the side of the house. They were in possession of items stolen from the school and were arrested, Hurlbut said.

Over the course of two and a half hours, police and the CHP arrested six suspects from the Fairfield area hiding in three yards, Hurlbut said.
