Officers went to the location, but did not spot a mountain lion.
Police contacted the California Department of Fish and Game, which
advised it is rare for two mountain lions to travel together. Fish and Game
said the residents may have seen bobcats, which are common in cliff areas,
according to police.
Residents who spot such an animal are being warned to not approach
the cat and instead call Daly City police at (650) 991-8092. Additionally,
residents are advised to bring pets in for the night and not leave any food
outside.
Fish and Game will investigate the sighting during daylight
Tuesday, police said.
