Pedestrian fatally struck in Petaluma

PETALUMA, CA

A person was killed after being struck by a vehicle in unincorporated Sonoma County northeast of Petaluma this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The pedestrian was struck shortly before 12:30 a.m. near the intersection of Adobe Road and Hardin Lane, according to CHP Officer Robert Haven, who said the victim was later pronounced dead.

Adobe Road is expected to be closed until at least 2:45 a.m. while authorities investigate the scene and clear the roadway, Haven said.
