At about 3:50 p.m. Saturday, Sonoma County sheriff's deputies were dispatched to assist the Monte Rio Fire Department with a man who was in distress nearby.
Emergency personnel responded to the person's home in the 9000 block of Middle Terrace Road, where they found the body of a man.
Detectives from the sheriff's department violent crimes unit along with the crime scene investigations unit responded.
The man's name is being withheld pending further investigation and notification of next of kin.
